WQED FM Internship
Since Summer 2024, I have been a WQED FM intern, producing primarily short- and some long-form content for the radio station 89.3. My role as an intern includes producing spots and spotlights for WQED’s Voice of the Arts podcast, writing scripts for Performance in Pittsburgh programs and funder drive spots, as well as various audio editing tasks and social media content creation. I’ve also had the opportunity to interview guests on our Voice of the Arts podcast and help with on-location video/audio recordings.
Voice of the Arts Podcast
Episode 1 - I spoke with Amy Cottrill, founder of Pittsburgh Vegan, and others on VOktoberfest—a vegan take on the harvest festival with live singing and dancing entertainment.
Episode 2 - Amy came back to WQED to give an overview of her upcoming events, including a paranormal Halloween Festival, celebrating cross-cultural fall traditions and featuring the paranormal investigation group Bump in the Night Society.
Short Form Content
My work producing short form content includes spots written to advertise Voice of the Arts podcast episodes, top-of-the-hour spotlights highlighting local organizations from our podcast, and spots for fundraising drives. Listen to the clips below for samples.
